Before Exam
Practice seriously and practice a lot
Have a time table for practice tests
Time yourself
Record all your attempts and how much you scored
Analyse the wrong answers and find where you are going wrong and continue working on the weak areas
Practice to shade the circles if it is multiple type
Learn how to mark the questions to come back to
Learn to Use the question paper margins for rough work
Pack up for the test :-
Should you take a pencil or two ?
Do you need an eraser?
Water bottle?
Sleep well
Tomorrow
Go early
Eat before a test.Having food in your stomach will give you energy and help you focus but avoid heavy foods which can make you groggy.
Go to the bathroom before walking into the exam room
During Exam
Do now look around during the exam at other people
Don't distract others
Pace yourself, don't rush . Read the entire question and pay attention to the details.
Keep an eye on the time
Maths and General Ability answers may need more time. English answers may not
Keep a positive attitude throughout the whole test and try to stay relaxed.
Always read the whole question carefully. Don't make assumptions about what the question might be
If you don't know an answer, skip it. Go on with the rest of the test and come back to it later.
Eliminate answers you know aren't right.
Read all the choices before choosing your answer.
If you do not know the answer, always take an educated guess
Read the directions carefully and don't forget to answer all parts of the questions
When faced with a reading passage followed by a series of questions, read the questions first and then read the passage.
Don't worry if others finish before you. Focus on the test in front of you.
If you have time left when you are finished, look over your test. Make sure that you have answered all the questions.
PS- When there is very little time left and a large number of questions left unanswered, please go ahead and guess answers without reading the questions and mark something.
Remember!!There are no negative marks..
So if you have 2 minutes remaining and 15 questions to answer which you know will take 8 minutes, just start picking a choice randomly. its quite possible some of them will be right. This is better than answering only 2.
